Hourglass, English name: sand clock; sand glass is a kind of timing instrument, and there are other names such as sand clock and sand pot. An hourglass is usually made up of two connected quicksand pools, while the inside is sealed with a certain amount of quicksand depending on the time of the calculation. Japanese is quite appropriate for sand time. The western hourglass consists of two glass balls and a narrow connecting pipe. The time is measured by the time required for the sand filled with the upper glass ball to flow through the narrow pipe into the bottom glass ball. Once all the sand has flowed to the bottom glass ball, the hourglass can be reversed to measure the time, and the general hourglass has a nominal run time of one hour.
